Attention: This program is only available to dealers located in the United States.

Canadian dealers will not be able to order upgrade kits at this time.

This bulletin is being revised to update the service procedure and part availability/contact

information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 05-08-46-006G (Section 08 - Body and

Accessories).

This bulletin is being issued to provide dealer personnel with information and procedures to follow

should an owner wish to upgrade their OnStar® Generation 4 or 5 analog/digital-ready system to an

OnStar® Generation 6 Digital-Capable system.

Service Procedure

Customers who wish to upgrade their vehicle to an OnStar® Generation 6 Digital-Capable system will

be required to purchase a 1-year, non-refundable subscription to OnStar® (plus applicable subscription

tax) plus $19 handling. The $19 handling does not need to be collected in the states of Alaska, Delaware,

Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon. If they agree to this, they will be eligible to receive a digital

hardware upgrade. To participate in this program, the customer will pay the dealership for the 1-year

subscription. Your dealership's open account will be charged for the upgrade package, so you must

collect payment from your customer. The prices for the two upgrade packages are as follows:

• 1-year Safety and Security (S&S) ADT package: $199 plus tax (if applicable)

Service Information

• 1-year Directions and Connections (D&C) ADT package: $399 plus tax (if applicable)

• A $19 handling fee (non-taxable) applies to all ADT upgrades (except in the states noted above)

Important: Dealers should not remit OnStar® subscription-related taxes to their taxing authority as

OnStar® is responsible for tax remittance.

Important: Upgrade kit quantities are currently extremely limited. We expect to have higher inventory

levels in January 2007. For kit availability, check with the distributor, Autocraft, at 1-888-947-8100.

Important: The 1-year upgrade package is not transferable to another vehicle. So if the customer sells

their upgraded vehicle prior to the end of the 1-year subscription, any unused whole months of their

subscription cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Important: Each upgrade kit that is ordered for a particular VIN must be installed in that VIN. Do not

swap kits between vehicles. Doing so will prevent a proper and full configuration from occurring.

Important: The new Digitally-Capable OnStar® Vehicle Communication Interface Module (VCIM)

that will be installed into the customer's vehicle, as part of this upgrade, will have a new telephone

number assigned to it. There is no way to transfer the customer's current telephone number to the new

system. Additionally, any Hands-Free Calling (HFC) nametags that may have been stored on the old

system need to be reset after the upgrade is completed.

Important: Only vehicles listed in this bulletin will be eligible for the OnStar® Digital Capabilities

Upgrade program. You may also determine vehicle upgradeability by typing the VIN into the

appropriate field on www.onstarenrollment.com (located in GM Dealerworld).

Technicians are to install the OnStar® digital-upgrade kit using the following procedure:

1. If the customer's vehicle is listed in this bulletin and they have agreed to sign up for a 1-year, nonrefundable

subscription to OnStar® plus taxes and handling, an upgrade kit can be ordered by

faxing in a form that is titled "Terms and Conditions of Your OnStar® Service." Do not collect

the $19 handling n the states of Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon. This

Terms and Conditions form can be obtained by calling the distributor, Autocraft, at 1-888-947-

8100. This form can also be downloaded from Autocraft's website, ATC Technologies Corp.. After this

form is completely filled out, and the customer's signature is obtained, fax it to 972-466-6316.

Please give a copy of this form to the customer and keep a copy for dealership records. An

upgrade kit will be shipped out within 24 hours and a pre-paid return package label will be

included for returning the customer's Generation 4 or 5 VCIM.
